About Mt. Vernon, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Mount Vernon, Kentucky is a small city found in nestled along the foothills of Rockcastle County’s Cumberland Mountains. Located at the intersections of U.S. Routes 150 and 25, the city serves as the county seat. Approximately 2,500 residents call Mt. Vernon home, which was first settled in 1790. While Mount Vernon is still primarily rural, the construction of Interstate 75 in the area brought some industry to the region, and the population has grown 50% since 1970.

Mount Vernon is home to many businesses that attract both visitors and locals. Shopping is available at the Mount Vernon Mini Mall, while antique hunters might set their sights on Bitter Sweet Cabin. A delicious meal is also a quick drive away at Marcella’s Farm to Fork, Limestone Grill, and Back Porch Smokehouse, all located directly within Mt. Vernon.

The region is also rich in musical heritage. Mt. Vernon is home to Renfro Valley Entertainment Center – often called Kentucky’s Country Music Capital – since 1939. The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum is also located here and calls itself one of the newest attractions in the state.

Mt. Vernon is known for offering residents four distinctive seasons throughout the year, which leads to many outdoor recreation opportunities. Winters are cool to cold, and snowfall is variable. When the occasional snow storm pushes into the area, residents can enjoy sledding, skating, and skiing. However, dangerously cold conditions can also accompany the snow, especially overnight. To make the best of these frigid conditions, Mt. Vernon residents should invest in a high-quality and properly-sized home furnace.

The spring, autumn, and summer months in Mt. Vernon are popular for biking, hiking, and other warm weather activities. Daytime highs in the summer reach into the 80s, although there are many days when thermostat readings exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit. An energy-efficient central air condition will keep interiors comfortable at low monthly utility costs.
